Unhappy Can't start up

Running Win2k

During start up I get to the device scan and after that nothing....operating system will not kick in.

Tried booting from the cd and just install over it (i've done this for 98) and the message I got was that the NTFS partition was damaged and recommended reformatting.

Last thing...I dont have an Emergency Repair Disk

Can I throw HD into another computer and fix or grab data from there. Note other computer has FAT32.

Am I screwed?

Thanks for the help

I went to this site but there is no download for a ERD...I downloaded the disks 1-4 and tried that but that did now work for me (still need a ERD)...any suggestions?
