Tricky DHTML Anyone know how? =)

I have a page for which parameters can be inserted into a mesage, and I want the parameters to be a different color (and bold, even), so that they are distinguishable from the rest of the text in the textarea.
I know how to change the whole text in textarea, but that's not the case here...

Thanks in advance for any help.

I know.. wrong forum.. I'll put it in the right one...

not using a textarea.

you could if the message was displayed in a Layer or table.
