a computer has win95 and winxp.
can a virus or trojun cross over from one to the other?
would it likely do so if it can?

Most virii will not do this, but they are becoming more and more complex everyday so it is possible. Also, many virii that affect Win95 will not affect WinXP and vice versa, but again it's not out of the realm of possibility. On the other hand, there are virii that will affect the boot sector of your drive(s). A virus like this would most likely have an affect on both OS, especially if the are on different partitions of the same drive.

What's the problem you are having that brings this question to mind?
