volume control

No problem with the sound recorder I downloaded. I've never downloaded anything re: volume control. Where do I get(or can I ) a download for volume control ?

Thanks, I've tried this but it tells me volume control has not been installed and I must go to my Windows 98 disc to recover it. My recovery disc was lost. What I need to know is, can I download volume control somewhere on line ?

I'm not computer savvy enough to fully understand what you mean. I do have Crystal PnP Audio System CODEC and Control Registration. Sound works fine on everything and I can control volume from the keyboard but can't from the taskbar.

Start>Settings>Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs
Click the Windows Setup tab
Scroll down to Multimedia and select it then click the Details button.

Check the Volume Control option then apply.

When I do this I am asked to insert the manufacturer's installation disc, which I don't have.

you need the Windows CD or point it to the folder where Windows was installed from.

If you don't have the CD then ask whoever you got the PC from.
