Hi,
I am experiencing a lot of problems when going to different web pages or trying to send out an attachment. I keep losing my connection. (I am out in the "woods" have only dial up) It is also extemely slow to load if it does.
I also get a message when starting windows that says "A required .DLL file, MSCOREE.DLL was not found"
Any suggestions before I take it in to the shop?

Hi, I'm "out in the woods" to & I used to have similar problems with my dial-up connection. Get your phone company to do a line check to see if there are any external line faults. Also, some external interferance can cause connection problems such as this example: I lived next to a farm property with its fenceline running parallel to our overhead phonelines, the fence also was electrified & the pulse emitted by the coil in the electric fence circuit was causing a rythmic "clicking" noise on the phoneline which can cause connection problems. Try plugging your modem directly into the phone socket so that it is the only device "online". I'n other words, remove any answering machines, phoneline double adapters & so on. Also, with dial up, if someone tries to call you whilst you are online, it can cause a disconnect. Just a few things for you to consider. I hope you get it sorted.

Curious but have you always had this problem or is it something new?

This error is generally due to the user not having the .NET framework installed on their system and they are trying to run an app that was built using .NET. You can download the .NET framework from HERE (http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=262D25E3-F589-4842-8157-034D1E7CF3A3&displaylang=en)

However, I really don't think you are using this. Try the download page provided and then put the file in:

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM

Now reboot.

I also have experince with diaup in rural areas. I have also experienced the same problem. Trying a different "hardware modem" can often help a lot. The problem is often line noise. The line noise can be internal(lines in the house) or external(phone Co lines). A laptop with a known good modem and good dialup speed can be useful. Hook the laptop up to the same line that was pluged into the computer and see how it does and what speed it gets. If it gets good speed, then try a different modem in your computer. If not, plug it in outside at the phone company box where the line connects to the house. If it gets good speed there but not inside the house then you need to run a new line to your compute from the box. If it doesn't get good speed at the box, then you need to call the phone company and complain about the line. Ask for a pair switch(move you to different copper lines). You will probably have to complain several times before you get results.

Also using a winmodem will cause disconnects/slow access. If you are not sure which you have then post your modem information and someone will check it for you.
