Win95 Install

After formatting the hard disk once rebooted with boot disk i am getting an error when trying to install windows "CANNOT CREATE TEMP FILE". And i am also not getting the C: prompt??????

Try fdisk and see if it sees your partitions. If not, try deleting and repartitioning and then formating.

Hi selector007:

Are you sure the BOOTDISK is the same "version" as the partition style of the hard drive? It's possible to format a hard drive with the FORMAT.EXE file that's on the hard drive you are going to erase (say it had NTFS), then when the reformat finished, and you rebooted with an MSDOS or WIN9x bootdisk, you couldn't "see" the hard drive because NTFS partitions are not recognized.

Just a thought.

The size of the hard disk is 3.2gb no partions.

You need at least one partition and if it is to be the boot drive it needs to be set as active. Use a boot floppy from win 95b or newer as it will do fat32. 95a will only do fat16.
