compressed format for audio cd's?

Audio cd'scda format)
5 Minute audio song:-55 MB
hence maximum of 12-13 songs can be recorded in a cd.

Video cd'sdat format)
5 Minute video clip:-55 MB
hence maximum of 12-13 VIDEO CLIPS can be recorded in a cd.

is it due to the fact that DAT is a compressed format for video just like mp3 for audio?
My point is whether there is any other conpressed format for writing AUDIO CD'S.(not wav,mp3)

As I mentioned is another of your posts.

CD Audio uses RAW Audio Data. Don't even think of it in file size, think of it as minutes.

There are two major types of CD.
650MB = 74 minutes of audio
700MB = 80 minutes of audio

Video CD's use a specific video format which is MPEG-1 at a certain bit rate and a certain bit rate.
When it is made into a VCD then the file is changed into the VCD format, but underneath it is still MPEG-1 video.

VCD's can only use these specs or else it will not work.
