Smile Broadband and Outlook Express

Hi, I'm new to CTH and new to on-line help. Please bear with me. I have just installed ADSL Broadband from FreeUK and find that whenever I go into Outlook Express which is also a freeuk address, Broadband cuts out, and Dial up Connection pops up forcing me to dial for a connection. This is so frustrating. I have been into the various options and tried to integrate them but no joy. A previous posting here about broadband and separate phone lines didn't tell me what to do, to allow me to access my mail through broadband. Please help.

In Outlook express, Tools, Accounts. Highlight your mail account, Properties, Connections. Uncheck "Always connect to this account using" Apply, OK, etc.

Thanks, Oink! Simple when you know how (which I didn't). Broadband is now working smoothly with Outlook Express.

You're welcome. Actually, I hate Outlook Express. I have been using Pegasus Mail for many years. Not the most user friendly but best for my purposes.
