Question IE6 wont install (running in background error)

Hi all,
My friend has been having problems with IE. Slow downs, pages won't load...you know the deal....anyway, I suggested she upgrade to IE6 (thinking her problem was that her browser was outdated). Went to Microsofts page and downloaded the program with no problem but it won't install. It always comes back with the message that there is a program running in the background and we need to close it before continuing. We have shut down all the programs we know are open and even do ctrl/alt/delete and empty that except for Exployer and Systray. Still get the same message. She is running Win ME (terrible I know but what can I do...) and her old browser is IE5.0. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, 1badstud

For a program running in the background your best bet is to go to the downloads section here at CTH and grab a copy of Startuplist and post the log that it generates here
