Hi

I would like to get rid of this notification that keeps popping up on my screen. This is what it reads

16 Bit Windows Subsystem

system\current control set\control\virtual device drivers. VDD virtual device driver format in registry invalid. Choose. closed to terminate the application

This message has an option to cancel or ignore. Either way it keeps popping up :((((

Please help !!!

Thank You

Romesan

1. Start Registry Editor (Regedt32.exe).

2. Locate and click the following value:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\
Control\VirtualDeviceDrivers\VDD

3. On the Edit menu, click Delete.

4. On the Edit menu, click Add Value.

5. Type VDD in the Value Name box, click REG_MULTI_SZ for the Data Type, and then click OK.

6.The Multi-String editor appears. Leave this entry blank and click OK.

7. Quit Registry Editor.

Reboot

If the above steps do not work, or if you are unable to create the VDD key, it may be necessary to also delete and recreate the whole VirtualDeviceDrivers registry key. Post back results.

Murf appreciate your help.

Before you posted the reply, I got rid of the notification by removing a program . (I had installed a screen saver program which was creating the problem).
Would seek your help when I hit a bump.
Thanks
Romesan

I followed the instructions by running regedt32.exe.
When I goto the contol I could not find VDD in the tree.
So i put in a find parameter and it showed up in a Windows folder.

I made all the changes as recommended by you. It seems to be working fine :) Will post again if I have a problem

Thank You
