Adaptec cd easy cd creator

Hello

For some reason my cdrw has stopped working. And I can't figure it out. I get a message that says Warning reservation conflict program unable to use by adaptec direct cd is currently being used. I'm going nuts here since I need to make some data cd's.

Hope someone can help.

The first 3 articles pretty much all say the same thing, minor variances in problem/resolution. The last article may not be exactly related.... Note that these articles relate to versions up through 5.x, if you're using version 6.x you'll need to post back or search the Roxio Knowledge Base on your own. If this solves your problem, post back so others who encounter similar or the same problem can search the forums for a solution. :)

Does the error message look more like this:

"Unable to use by Adaptec...
DirectCD is currently being used."

Maybe the data cd component of Adaptec can't run while DirectCD is also running.

Do a Ctrl-Alt-Del and End Task on DirectCD if it's running. I have removed it from my startup and only run it when I need it.

Sometimes the simplest solutions are the best solutions. Killing Direct CD from startups might be the easiest and best. Also, I don't use Easy CD, so my experiences with it are very limited. :)
