Multi-screen support
Hello,
Can someone explain or give me a link on how to configure win2000 to use multiple monitors/LCDs to display one screen. Also, is there any hardware/software requirements to do this? I'm using a laptop, so it's using both the LCD and an external monitor. (I could get this to work on a Win98 system but not in win2k) Any help would be appreicated... Thanks DH |

windows help contains a step by step for installing dual monitors on win2k. there is no need for special software as it has built in support for it. However you either need 2 video cards or a video card that supports dual outputs. ( the geoforce4 mx 420 is one such card). I guess it all depends on whether your laptop supports dual outputs or not.

Well I'm using the laptops LCD screen and the vga output on the back (most laptop have them) as the 2nd monitor. I want to be able to expand the screen over both (the LCD and the vga output monitor). I also have win98 on a second partition of the drive and was able to do this this fine that OS. However, I would like to do this on win2k because it has all of the programs I use installed on it. (plus some other features that win98 doesn't)
The problem is that the win2k on my laptop doesn't give me an option under "display properties-settings" for 'extend my windows desktop onto this monitor' that it's suppose to. Also, it doesn't let me select an individual monitor/output. All that it says under "Displays:" is 'multi monitors installed' or something like that. Anyways, I would appreciate any suggestions offered. Thanks Last edited by Dark Hermit; December 18th, 2003 at 11:19 PM. |
