slow to connect

hi
in the past when i started my computer i couldt start IE and i was connected instatly , now when i start my computer i got to wait about 5 min befor the internet start . i use IE6.0//winxp home//on cable

Hi Tim, are your critical updates up to date? If not then you're likely to have the Blaster or Nachi worms, the latter is very good at slowing machines down.

i have no idea if i did it where do i get that update? here the version i got

i got that info from IE when i click on help////about internet explorer
