motherboard processor

If i have a new mobo and chip combo do i have to reinstall or will 98 pick them up, everything else is the same

Reinstalling would be better....there will be many conflicts in mobo drivers...it probably could be done though.....do you have a full windows 98 copy or is this a restore disc?

Danjen,

It can be done but like Caeser stated you could possibly have conflicts. I would back up all of you important data before you do anything. Once your data is backed up, give your hard drive a try and see if you have any problems. If you don't, GREAT. But if you do have problems like random freezes and lockups then I would definitly do a complete reinstall.
