When policy is in effect to limit users ability to load applications, is there a way to have windows prompt for an admin password?
I have been prompted in the past to provide these credentials when installing on a users machine.
Is there a way to ask windows 2000 Pro to always prompt for a password? It would save a ton of time in not having to log them off and then log on as admin.
Thanks in advance!

Hi PCMike,
Have you tried using the RunAs option when trying to load an executable file? If not, give that a try.

In XP it works if you simply right-click on an executable or a shortcut to an executable. In 2K, you have to hold down the Shift key then right-click in order to get the RunAs option.
