Does anyone know what the usual cause is for repeated 'illegal operation' errors and 'closing this window' errors are ?
Seems like puter hates hotmail programs like a passion.

gets annoying when im in the middle of typing out sometihng and it does this and i lose it all cuz dont havhe a chance to save before it closes open windows.

is there maybe something i need to turn on or off in internet options ?

Is the IE errors the only ones you are getting? If so then What version of IE are you using? If 5.5 or above then go to the Add/Remove programs in the control panel and double click the Internet explorer in there. You should get a menu, choose to Repair tool. If that doesn't work or doesn't help, then try ugrading IE.... IE could just be corrupted... Need to know an answer to the first question though....

Ok, IE isn't in there because it is a standard part of Windows. You have never done an upgrade.

Did the link above help any?

Go ahead and try to upgrade. Go to IE 6.0..
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/default.asp

See if that will help your errors...

I tried following the above link, but some of the stuff there doesnt match what i have/see on my system, hmm..

I'll try and upgrade to 6 and see what happens. Seems like this puter has spells every few days of rejecting harmless programs.

is there anything else I should do besides just downloading the version 6, when I do download it ? Nothing to modify or delete or anything ?
thanks guys !

Randy, did you follow the directions to the Registry Key that was mentioned in the link above by zeratul? If so did you find more than one instance of Quickview plus.

Just incase you dont know how to get to the Regedit, heres how. Go to Start/Run/Type regedit. Then just follow directions in that link... I'll post it here also.

To resolve this behavior, remove all but one of the QuickView Plus entries from the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\InternetSettings\Accepted Documents

That should help your problem....
