View Full Version : Where has deviantART.com gone?

Hi all

Just got back online after a year out, went to check out one of my favourite
digital art websites http://www.deviantart.com and was greeted with, "the page cannot be displayed" :(

Does anyone know what happened to this fine site? (no it has nothing to do with porn despite the name)

I do not know about the fine part but it is still there. I clicked the link in your message and went straight there with no delay.

It musta disappeared.....all refs to it on google get

Yeah looks like its gone, I`ll have to find another site then!

No its not I don`t believe you its just I`ve tried the last couple of days and can only get "The page cannot be displayed" messages.

Its no biggie like I said I`ve not been online for a while, and was just going through my favourites folder seeing what had changed.

Thanks for looking though.

It is accessible from my location. Try cleaning out your browsers cache/temp files and then manually typing the address in.

Just done that and still no joy, starting to think it may be something at my end if you guys can get to it and I can`t!

Just keep giving it a try the next day or so. I believe there is currently something messed up in a backbone somewhere.

well there is definetly something wrong at someones end, i'm hitting deviantART with no problems.

im a member of deviantart and its always present if they have maintenanceit always says so in he front page. the only raeson i can think of is that your isp provideris banned by the deviantart so you got affected by this.. im not sure though. But it really works fine for me!!! :D Good luck!

OK one possibility is that a year ago you were running one of these programs that is alleged to speed up your surfing by caching the DNS to the hosts file in c:\windows\system32 and that since that was cached the site moved so you're still looking at its old address.

Open the hosts file up in notepad and see if there is a reference to the site you want to get to, if there is delete it and save the file.
