When I send an email, every other line has this message in it:

<!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->

Why?

Hi Linda, welcome to CTH

Afraid I've never come across that before. What software is this mail being viewed with?

When I send an email, every other line has this message in it:

Why?

First, I copied something from Microsoft Word, pasted it into Netscape email. (It contained formatting.) then I saved it as a template. When I sent it to myself at another email address, the email message was full of these codes ,!--[if !supportEmptyParas]-->

I haven't used NS mail in a while but what seems to have happened is you have attempted to copy a Microsoft HTML document (from Word) into a non-microsoft product (Netscape).
Netscape can handle much (but not all) MS HTML code BUT probably not through simple copy/paste.

I'm working off Mozilla mail (which I know is similar but may be slightly different) for the following instructions:

Save Word .Doc as .HTML file.
Open HTML document in NotePad
Open NSmail.
Compose
Insert > HTML
Copy entire content of notepad document
Paste into HTML window in NS Mail Compose
Click Insert
File>Save As>Template

One thing to keep in mind though....

When sending email that has anything other than plain text in it, including html and stationery, you run the risk of the recipient not seeing the email as you intended them to. Email is NOT a medium for styled content.
