Hi i wonder if anyone could help please,
my dial up password keeps going wrong my password is only 7 digits long but when i try to connect there is 13 digits ive tried not having password saved box checked, ive tried going to tools connections settings and have deleted password from there but still when i try to connect i get 13v digits in the password box and the save password box is checked again.
Ive tried going to my isp website and retriving my account settings but that didn't sort it out.



win XP pro + service pack 1

256 pc133 ram

Try this...control panel/internet options/content tab/auto complete/clear passwords
This will clear ALL passwords however !!!

Does your dialup connect even with the extra dots in the password field?

XP adds the extra dots for "additional security" so if it connects anyway, your password is being saved.

Evidently, that feature is to make it more difficult for others to hack your password since they won't be able to tell how many characters it contains just by counting the dots.

HI I didn't try that just thought thats the wrong password and rubbed it out, just tried and it worked thanks for that.

thanks also to dammit i had forgoten how to turn auto complete on and off so that was handy aswell.
