Saving from IE6

How come it wont let me save pics from this browser.. when i save picture as... it always comes up with the windows icon and not the actual .jpg icon.

First, in Internet Explorer, go to Tools>Internet Options and click on the "Delete Files" button. Then try saving another jpg. If that didn't help, read on.

Since there is no "jpg icon" but, rather, jpgs and other graphics files will display the icon of the program associated with them ("associated" means "always opens with").

For example, if you have jpgs associated with Irfanview (a free, basic graphics program), all jpg files will have the Irfanview icon next to the file name.

So it sounds like the jpg files on your computer may have lost their association.

To restore it, find a jpg file (doesn't matter which one) on your computer, hold down the shift key while right clicking on it and go to "Open With..."

Then choose the program you want to use to open jpg files from the list, put a check mark in the box preceding "Always use this program..." and click OK.
