Sleeping Monitor mode

Had installed a new video card...NVidia geforce2 MX 400 as an upgrade to a 16mb card..since then..I am not able to Turn off
Monitor sleep mode in the Control Panel/Properties area. Now only shows settings for System Standby...listed Never.and Turn Off HD...listing for Monitor
no longer there. Not sure if new card was configured properly but installer says he's installed plenty of them ..that it must be my system? :confused: :confused:

Sorry, I forgot to mention that as important as it is... I'm using Win '98 ...
Service Pac 1 ...it's not SE!

OK, I don't see how the new video card is the problem per se. Some settings in Windows must have changed and need to be changed again. This is a software issue more than hardware. So I'm gonna move this post to the Win98 forum. Check it out there.

Did a friend do this or a Shop? If a shop then take it back to them and make them Fix the Problem. Something in the installation of the Card has messed with the settings...

I am not real familiar with Video cards, hopefully someone that is will be along shortly....

Hey Dodge...I did end up yesterday taking the tower back to the shop that installed
and sold me that card...they gave it another try but with no results...I had them
re-install my old card...a Diamond Viper
V-550 16mbs AGP... Everything went back into
place like it was before. They refunded me the money I paid.

This is a 1999 computer and already it's getting too old to try and add new components..Maybe in the future I'll buy a new one instead.
