Hi I just got an old Sharp PC6600, 386SX, 40Mb, 20MHz laptop (free). What command do i enter at the C: prompt to load Win95 from a floppy?
Thanks in advance for any advise. |

I'm surprised anyone has a win95 diskette that works. I think that Disk 1 is bootable.

Two choices:
1. Type A: and at the A:\> prompt type Setup (with disk #1 in the A: drive of course). 2. At the C:\> prompt type A:\ Setup (Again with Disk #1 in the A: drive) |

I don't believe a 386 is compatible with W95. If you are able to sneak by the CPU, you probably won't get past the memory requirements - very few 386s had more than 2megs of RAM, which was a lot then since most machines ran on 640Kb. W3.11 will run on it, and you can get all the additional pieces (such as TCP/IP, new IE, etc.) to make it Internet compatible.
