I need some advice and hopefully this is the place for it.
I installed a new modem and all went well and connection speed "seems" very good.
When I connect a box comes up "Connecting to xxxx". Then "checking user name and password"
followed by "connected at 45333bps".
With the new modem I am now getting "115200".
Obviously this is the comm port speed.
How can I revert to the other setting "bps"
Thank you.

There are a number of things you can do.
1.Control Panel\Modems\Properties\Connection\Advanced and type W2 in the extra settings box, click OK.
2.You can also go back a couple of steps and change the Max speed setting to something less than 115200. Not recommended.
3.Control Panel\System\Device Manager, click on the Ports(COM & LPT) and expand it. Hilite the COM port your modem is using, click Properties button, Port Settings and set the Bits per second box at 115200, click OK. and exit CP.
