Okay, this time it is my mouse playing up!!
I have one of them fandangled M$ Intellimouse Trackballs. Every time I re-boot, the cursor moves around very slooooooooow, and I have to go into start, programs, M$ hardware, then open up the trackball window. That is all I have to do, as soon as the window opens, the mouse speeds up to how I had originally configured it. I have tried adjusting settings time and time again, only to get this darned slow mover on every re-boot. Should I uninstall the mouse program, and re-install, then adjust the settings again?
Any help will be most appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
Dave.

Steve, the mouse came with a floppy disk to install the program, so I've done that. But each time I open the program and try adjustments I hit the apply button before the okay button. Then when I re-boot, it goes back to the slow mode, although within the program, it shows being set at a higher speed!! Confusing here, but I think you'll get my drift.
Mishy, thanks, I'll take a look at them pages later tonight, when I get a bit more free time.
Thanks to you both for replying.
Dave.

Have you removed the mouse software from your startup? (Using MSconfig or StartupCop or something?) I would say this runs in the background to control the mouse. Starting it up gets it running. Is there an option within the program to run at startup?
If not, uninstall and reinstall drivers from Mishy's links.

Thank you very much guys.
I uninstalled the mouse program, then went to the links Mishy provided, downloaded one of them programs, and touching wood, everything seems to be working fine now!! It does seem funny how it started acting up, cos it was working allright when I first added the new mouse, oh well, one of the joys of computing I guess.
