Hi
ironside did you do a clean install, or did you just install millineum over the top of 98. I have heard of people having problem by just doing the upgrade. I did some searching for you but could not find anything to help. Sorry.

Hi
ironside just a thought try another fresh install, with only the video card, mouse and keyboard and see how it goes. If everything is alright than add one card at a time, than you would be able to tell if it really is the motherboard or one of the cards. Just a thought.

Irons,

I suggest you go with what Frosty says but as soon as you've installed the OS install ALL the mobo drivers you get with the mobo. Most of the time it's the conflicts there initially that cause these problems.

Hello Ironside what do you mean by wiped off?
Did you delete the windows directory or format before putting millenium on, let me know as there are a couple of things you can do to get it all working again but i need to know what you mean by wiped off.

Hi Ironside,
Sorry ya avin so many problems.
First thing to do is go bed and have a good sleep so you wont end up throwing the computer out the window hehehe.
Then if you are not worried about opening the computer up check that the video card and all other cards are secure ( yer seems daft but you will be surprised at how much they can come loose and cause problems). If any are loose dont push them down, move them from side to side gently till they fit nice.
I am not sayin this will solve your problem but it is worth a try.
When you put 98 on and everything is ok, then if ya want, install millenium over win98 and say yes when it asks if you want to save your settings then you can uninstall it if you dont like it or you get more problems. If you uninstall remember it will leave a lot of the millenium stuff on your computer ( mainly a lot of the good stuff that millenium has ) The most important thing is sleep cos if ya tired you will just get stressed out.
Hope this helps you in some way.

ok bully i have done all of the sbove and amd tech just email me and said to set it up as a bare bones system and try millinnium again after i format first,Im in that process now.
even after i put stright win98 on it, it still had the shut down problems as before just blue screens, I seem to be getting so my share of weird problems here lately, but this one is for my sister inlaw and i got to get it right the first time, because if there was ever a definition of a blond shes it.
