Help!
I have partitioned and formatted a 4.3 Maxtor using their util. I am trying to install Win 98 or Win ME and the first Windows installation screen loads the one with the various stages of install on the left. The first install of files necessary to install .... then system freezes at 100 percent, either reboots to A again or just hangs.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

welcome dadmy. I assume your using a win98 boot disk. If so at the a prompt type

MD Win98 then enter this makes a directory then change to that directory. so type CD Win98 then enter. Then you copy all the files from the CDRom to that directory. You should see C:\Win98 then you type this COPY E:\Win98 then enter(or the letter of your CD drive)
It should start copying your files to your c drive, when it finishes then all you should have to do is type SETUP and it should start loading windows. You can then take out the boot disk and the CD

Good luck, if this doesn't work then let us know, for some more ideas

I fixed it myself, a feat in in itself.
I disabled the antivirus in bios and boom, the intall then ran like it should.
Thanks
