Well this is my situation.. I have a removable floppy drive and cdrom drive, neither can be in at the same time since they share the same bay.. I have a formatted HD with nothing on it.. I have boot disk ready.. I have to use the floppy drive to boot into DOS.. If I choose to boot with CDROM support it says that it cannot find a cdrom drive because the floppy drive is in and I cant have both in at the same time..

So, my question is how can I install Win98se using the CDROM after I startup in DOS when the floppy is in the drive during the startup and when I take it out and put the floppy in it does not work.. I know it has something to do with the MSCDEX.EXE but Im not at a level to understand what parameters I should use..

Also I was able to copy my startup disk to my HD and then able to startup using the HD while the CDROM drive was installed and it worked.. I was able to install windows.. Now Im trying to do this again after a format and Im not able to do it..

Any help would be very grateful and please email me with any suggestions and what would be easier..

Go into the BIOS. Look for "boot options" or "boot" on the menu. Choose "cdrom"as your first boot option. Save your changes, then reboot with the cd in the cdrom. Usually, tapping the "delete" key or F1 or F2 at the boot will get you into the BIOS. Watch your screen for a hint.
