Compressed Or Disk-cache Volume On Hard Disk

Hello im trying to install THE RECOVERY DISK WITH WIN98 but i get this message saying (THIS VERSION OF WICROSOFT SCANDISK WILL WORK ONLY WITH MS-DOS version 5.0 and later.
Setup found a compressed volume or a disk-cache utility on your computer. Quit setup and check your compressed volume with your disk compressed softwear or remove the disk-catch utility.
then run setup again.)

If it is we need to keep to one thread and one forum so we can help, you may get some advice in Windows 95 then some in Windows 98. Lots of folks visit both forums, and it is really easier to follow the progress when it is all in one thread.

I cannot tell you not to post in both forums about the same problem, but will tell you that folks will be reluctant to help you. If this is all about the same computer I would like to merge both threads into one, in whichever forum you like.

If your ultimate goal is to get Win 98 running then I would suggest leaving here in Win 98.

Well this a diffrent computer, its compaq presario 1200 and the other post is with sony vaio pcv rx450. thank you for helping me.
