To Fix it:

Suggestion 1:
Start the computer in Safe Mode (directions here) Once it starts up in safe mode, shutdown and try booting up normally.

Suggestion 2:
If that doesn't work, start it in Safe Mode, Go to Start> Run> type in msconfig and press enter> click the startup tab> go through the list and uncheck anything that says McAfee in the name or the path> Press ok and restart the computer normally> This may fix your computer but it will disable the anti-virus and firewall until we figure out the core of the problem.

Hope this Helps Please post back if it works or doesn't

Also, you might want to try the following:

When booting, press the 'Esc' key as soon as the Windows clouds screen appears so you can actually see what is happening as the PC boots. You may discover that it is actually the DOS boot scan from McAfee that is hanging. If that is the case, it can be disabled in the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. It is not a common problem, but I have had that happen once or twice on certain PC's. If you have to disable the DOS scanning, the only thing affected is the scan for boot viruses or viruses in COMMAND.COM.

How exactly would I disable it in AUTOEXEC.BAT?

To disable the DOS portion of the McAfee antivirus place REM in front of the lines used for this function. If you are unsure of which lines need this, post the contents of your AUTOEXEC.BAT file here.
