Greetings, I'm not sure if this can be done in excel. Suppose I have a column that only allows the following entries: y, n or n/a. Now suppose that when a y is entered in the cell under that column that it generates a numeric value in another cell in another column. (I.E "y" entered in b4 then numeric value of "2" appears in c4, "n" entered in b5 then numeric value of "0" appears in c5, "n/a" entered in b4 then numeric value of "1" appears in c4, etc) Does excel allow for this function? Please help.
