Combining two Excel databases

Dear friends:

This should be a no-brainer: I am trying to combine two Excel .xls files. That's it. One file has 181 records, another has 317 records. These are all email addresses and each file has only one column (A) listing these email addresses. When I highlight Column A in one file and try to paste into Column A (or into the file by clicking on the bar at the top), I get an error message to the effect that the size of the rectangles of the source and target are different.

Can you help, please?

Thank you.

Benjamin

Try just selecting the cells you wish to copy and not the whole column and do a ctrl-c, then select the cell at the end of the column you wish to copy to and do a ctrl-v. You are getting an error message because excel is trying to fit ranges of unequal size into each other.
