Question BackWeb?

What is the "backweb agent" application? If I delete it, how will it affect my computer? I heard it is "spyware". true? false? help me

Automatically detects an internet connection and downloads any available updates. Typical on Compaq and HP PC's but not restricted to those OEM's. Do you have either of those computers or have anything that requires autodownloads?

Backweb is now also being packaged with Hewlett-Packard printer software and Logitech products.

I usually disable it in msconfig or, on my own machines, uninstall it.
