How do I remove the 'Display' icon from my toolbar?

I dragged my 'display' icon to my toolbar so I could quickly change resolution. How do I remove it now?

Go to start > settings > control panel > display > click on the settings tab > click on the advanced button > uncheck the box next to Show settings icon on task bar.

If you have dragged a shortcut from control panel to a quick launch toolbar (rather than the systray) you can right click on it and "delete" it.
