How do I open a dot zip file please???

I have winzip, dont know what version but when I open the zip dot file and click on the file I want all I get are the words (my Stuff) which I need to open (airline ticket numbers)

The .zip file is a compressed file.
You need a program to open it, such as WinZip.

From the info you have posted, it looks like you have opened the .zip file and extracted the contents to C:\unzipped\dot\tab_my_stuff.gif

The file you have unzipped has a GIF extension. GIF is a graphic format. You can open this file in a Graphics Program or Internet Explorer (or web browser).

try this.

double click on the zip file.
when winzip opens , make sure it is in "classic mode" . (if you are in "wizard mode" there will be a button at the bottom left that says "winzip classic" , click it to go to classic mode.
now you will see a window with all the files that are contained in the winzip file.
you should be able to double click on any of them to open. if not , then try this.
LEFT click on any of the files , keep your mouse button held down and DRAG the file out of the winzip file then DROP (let go of the button) it onto your desktop.
you should be able to open the file now unless it has been corrupted.
you can also use the "extract" feature of winzip but that can be a little confusing.

before you drag the file out of winzip , check the file size and make sure it isn't 0 . if it is then the file is there in name ONLY.

"gif" is the extention used for a picture and not a text file.
the name "unzipped\dot\tab_my_stuff.gif" is a little strange (unless you have a folder named "DOT") and i would suggest you do a virus scan on the file before you open it.

Thanks,would you believe I had aready did almost everything above. I redid the intructions above and it would not open so I went to the travel site and got my info.
