Hi,
Cannot boot into ME because of missing I/0 or lack of mem according to Blue Screen of Death. CD ROM drive is accessible, however I have no Emergency Boot Disk. (And there is no backup of important files for this machine... no lectures because it is not my machine!) Is there a way to simply reboot by restoring the I/O files somehow, rather than a complete reinstall. And if I reinstall... what is the best way without destroying files on the HD, and still getting a reasonably working machine. Thanks for the help!

Hi, there is an emergency bootdisk available from this site (http://www.startdisk.com/Web1/ubd/ubd.htm)
