View Full Version : cd driver load up error

hi, i installed or used the cd god driver program and installed all the driver files at once cause i didnt know what driver file to use, now when i boot up, each driver file is tested for cd rom and it stops after so many, and i cant undo it and cant get into windows to erase the files, can anyone help me. I turn on my laptop, it boots up but goes into cd driver check and stops halfway and doesnt resume. i can reboot the comp all i like but it does the same thing over and over, im looking for a way to get back into windows so i can stop the process or does anyone have a solution. please help me

Hi there and welcome to the forum.
It sounds like you have loaded the CD-God to the root C:\ drive and your entire system thinks it's a floppy.

Step 1 - Have you got a normal floppy Windows boot disk? If not you can get one from the downloads section here. Note for this exercise, this boot disk will not need to load CD Drivers.

Step 2 - Boot up with floppy.

Step 3 - You will find yourself at A:\>prompt.
Type C: [ENTER]
Type ren autoexec.bat autoexec1.old
Type ren config.sys config1.old

Step 4 - Reboot without the Floppy.

Hopefully this will get you to Windows BUT you may find some other issues as a result of not having autoexec.bat & config.sys files so we may need to find and restore old ones from prior to CDGod install. We'll cross that bridge next...
