hi there. does some know the exact step-by-step instructions when carrying out a fresh install of win 98 on a refurbished laptop? i wanted some documented form of instructions, so it could be a PDF file which i can download or some web pages.

Do you have a W98 CD and the accompanying bootdisk? You should be able to simply follow on-screen instructions if you have both. If not - or if unexpected difficulties arise - we are here to walk you through the process.

hi lynn.
actually this is a query from a friend. what i suggested him was to boot from the win 98 bootable floppy and then select the "boot with CD rom support and run setup" option. the wizard will run him through the rest.
however, i don't know whether he's got a CD rom drive or not. i think win 98 doesn't come in anything else and it is necessary to have a CD drive.
anyway, let's wait and see what he mails be back with.
