I've recently downloaded a game called Email Upwords (that I used to play but was discontinued by Hasbro a couple of years ago). I was very happy to find a new version that seems to be operated by Microsoft (has a Windows logo on it), but when I try to send it by email to my friend, I get this message:
"Cannot connect to Game Server. If your local network is using a proxy server, you may be unable to play email games."
I was always able to play this game before, so I contacted my ISP. They had me go to Settings>Control Panel>Internet Options>Connections>Lan Settings and make sure nothing was checked off.
This made no difference whatsoever.
Is there anything I can do to be able to play this game? It was an incredibly social way to have fun with words, because with each of your turns, you could also send a little message to the other player/players. My friend and I were both very disappointed when it was discontinued a couple of years ago, and I was thrilled to find it up and running again. I don't want to give up on this too easily.
