I am helping a friend with his computer. Windows 98 2nd edition. His puter runs SLOW and has never been cleaned out. I cleaned it out and he had some hijacking issues , but I think I got them all. He continues to have this error message pop up and there is a file on his regisrty that I dont know what it is, and am afraid to remove it.

On his Scan Registry Log there is a EXE thats it, nothing else it is 72 k, I cannot view it at all. Afraid to get rid of it, how do I tell what it is?
HE is also getting a error message...WAY before I touched puter
KERNEL32.DLL?

Any suggestions?

There are all sorts of reasons for kernel32 errors, as explained on this page (http://inquirer.philly.com/newsroom/faq/pages/fdb7df9-74.html).

Knowing the exact wording of the error message he is getting is necessary to start figuring out what's causing it. Those errors messages usually say something like "xxxx.xxx caused an invalid page fault in kernel32.dll." The "xxxx.xxx" will be the name of the file or program that caused the error and that's the critical part to know.
