Cd Rom Drive

I installed a cd burner two years ago on this computer that im using. Is it ok if i just unplug it. Because i dont really need connected so yeah.

216Mb
20Gb
Philips 8x Cd Burner (Yeah I know it sucks)

Why unplug it? unless you need the IDE Cable, Power Cable or Drive Bay.
