dear members
We have a Mesh Elite 300A,Windows 98, and I am have problems with the Screen area and Palette for my monitor. Usually we run it at 800x600 Screen area and 256 or High colour (16 bit), but now we cannot run higher than 640x480 and 16 colours palette. This started after modem problems meant we had to get a new modem. We received a modem from Mesh which tried to install with their help. We installed it, but we could only run the computer in Safe Mode. We then let our friend take a look at it and he gave us a modem he had spare, a 3COM Robotics one. We now can run Windows normally but only at the above Screen dimensions. This very unhelpful because w cannot view webpages at their full size. Also we cannot use the full Properties of our new Photo qualaty printer and scanner that we recently invested in.
Upon entering Display properties, I find that I change the selections to the desired options, i.e. 800x600 and 256 colours. Then on pressing apply I am presented with a window asking me to restart the computer before the changes take place. I then restart the computer, then, when Windows restartsi find the setting have not changed at all. I tried again, but noticed in the split second between pressing OK or apply and the window closing, the setting revert back to their original position. Our monior is a Taxan Ergovision 760 TCO95, our graphics card is Hercules Terminator 128/3D GLH with 8MB memory.Do you know how i could fix the problem.

Try reinstalling the driver for your video card... That's what it sounds like the problem is to me..
