I have a legal Windows 98 SE, but have missplaced the product code. Is there anyway to retrieve it from the disk itself? If not will another Windows 98 SE product code work on this disk? I had it written down, because I left the sticker on the computer I had originally put it on, but I can't find it  I tried to track down my old computer but it seems it is long gone. Any help would be apprciated.

Unfortunately Although you legally own it, advising on alternative methods of product key codes is against the forum rules/policy:

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this BB to post any material which is knowingly... violative of any law. You agree not to post any copyrighted material unless the copyright is owned by you or by this BB.

Having said that, If you go to the Microsoft Site, you can get the CD Key, if it is a registerd copy.

If you currently have Windows 98 install on the computer in question then the 1st article I posted explains how to find it.

Can understand, no harm. I will be closing this thread as we don't want to get into more posts that we don't need.

If it is installed then the link that Dammit posted will wortk and should tell you the information you need.
