Hiya,
I have just installed a second hard drive as a slave drive, by following the tutorial...
How to install a second hard drive as a slive drive in win 98 (http://www.cybertechhelp.com/html/tutorials/tutorial.php/id/73)
All that went smoothly, untill I restarted the computer and I couldn't change the boot sequence back to my original hard drive with the operating system on it.
I went into BIOS to try and change the boot up sequence to the required order but haven't been able to.
When I go into the BIOS boot menu I have these options...
AWARD BIOS SETUP UTILTY
1. Removable (legacy floopy)
2. IDE Hard drive (Fujitsu MPD3043AT)
3. Atapi CD-Rom (CRD-8322B)
4. Other Boot Device (INT18 Device (networ)
When I bring up the sub-menu on each I get to options to either Disable it or leave it as it is.
From start up all I can do is go to fdisk or by pressing ESC a little menu comes up and I can boot from Floopy, CD-Rom,Fujitsu or SCSI. by selecting SCSI it boots up fine and the computer runs OK from the original hard drive with the operating system on it. In my computer...
A Drive is the floopy
C is the Operating system
D is the the slave
E is the CD-Rom
Booting that way is a pain and I'm sure it must be simple to fix somhow (just don't know how!)
Thanks for any help
Jon.
