re windows me error message

Hello techie's!
I have windows millenium and keep getting the dredded explorer has caused an error in(unknown) I want to get all my files and store them on another computer via my lan port c: does mode. is this possible?
I was going to do it with my ftp web server but everytime i open internet explorer it won't let me in on the web.
Any suggestions please!!!

Hi....try downloading THIS (http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm) and running it for your connection problem....It will fit on a floppy.
