So who's going to win this year? If I was a betting man I'd have already made a lot of money as I have predicted the playoffs thus far near perfectly. I've picked all the right teams and only missed the point spread of the Panthers/Rams game and the Colts/Panthers game. But picking for the Super Bowl has been more of a challenge. I initially went with the Patriots w/ a 6 point spread but after watching the Panthers play the Rams and the Colts, I may have to revise that. Granted they played fairly horrible vs the Rams mostly b/c of bad penalties but they still managed to take the game thanks to the defense.
This is a tough one b/c Brady seems to be virtually unstoppable for the Pats and the Panthers have Manning or whaterever his name is on defense with 6 picks in the post season so far. I think this will be one of the best Super Bowls in the history of the sport. The Panthers are hungry.... The Pats have been on a mission all season long and the game will be played out in Houston on that fake grass... not quite turf and not quite real. The players seem to love playing on it... Bah! I'm still going with the Pats but I think it will be a low scoring game and the deciding factor will be a late field goal, so I say Pats by 3.

Baser-x, you must be a genius to have picked those two.

Genius? Ha! My girlfriend would strongly disagree. But I picked New England from day one to be this season's Super Bowl champs and I picked Carolina initially as a joke. You'd almost have to be a Rams fan to understand, but when they traded Ricky Proehl to Carolina I decided then that Carolina would advance to the big game b/c Ricky was always the Rams go to guy, especially in any 3rd down situation and that was all Carolina really needed to help boost the offense enough to be considered a good offensive team. When it came time for playoff picks, past history said the Eagles would fail, watching the Rams all season, I knew they were destined to fall b/c they didn't really deserve to be in the playoffs to begin with and the rest were just lucky picks based on the end of season stats and key injuries and the fact that I follow football fairly close all season long. My brother is also a walking stat book and probably knows more about some of the teams than the owners do.
So, genius, I doubt it.

You used very good reasoning power to arrive at those picks anyway.
my son is a"Rams" fan and me--(whisper) "Browns". I'll take the Pats,
but Carolina has surprised us so far so, who knows.
