What you call your "Main Partition" is C:????? Which has Windows 98 already on it?

If so then use a windows 98 bootdisk/start up disk (floppy), boot the computer which will take you to the A:\>prompt. Then type the following:

format c: (hit <enter>) follow the menu.

Anything on your C: partition will be lost.

If your having problems post them maybe wqe can save you from formatting.

Also you can reinstall win 98 over the top of itself, without formatting.

If you do not have a boot disk go Here (http://www.bootdisk.com/bootdisk.htm)

Download the file Windows 98 Custom, No Ramdrive. Once downloaded then double click on the file and have a clean floppy in. It will extract all the boot files to that floppy. Then boot with that floppy. Watch the screen as it will tell you what drive letter it assignes to your cdrom drive.

I've been having recent problems with "laamp" (norton internet security) since this morning. I tried re-installing and its not fixing the problem. a re-format ususally cures any problem i have with my pc but I dont do it often. it wount update nis or nav it just goes as unreponsive. it also seems to be doing something else. sometimes it has the hourglass on the pointer. ???

When you tried reinstall NIS, did you uninstall it first through Add/Remove Programs then reboot?

Is it part of Norton System Works or are both Norton programs seperate?

Is it doing it in both XP and 98?
