Houdini Shortcuts

For some reason, when I booted up my computer, all the shortcuts on the start menu had gone AWOL. The programs are still on the computer, and the folders to contain the shortcuts are there, but nada shortcuts. What could cause this? What could fix this?

Have you setup a user profile recently? When a profile is setup you can disable icons on the computer so if someone else logs on without the password they wont be able to use them.
