Pls help

I am having a problem with my computer,can you please help?

i did fdisk and set everything up as necessary on my comp but when i try to format my c: drive it says invalid media type reading drive C:

Any possible suggestions or fixes would be appreciated.

what does the drive info in FDISK say?
what are you formatting from? a Windows ME startup disk?

Yea i downloaded a start up disk off the boot disk site you guys suggested and the fdisk info is as follows

Partition is C: 1
Status is A
Type is Primary DOS
MBYTES is 29196
System is unknown
And usage is 100%

sounds like something has gone wrong.
should be FAT32

how can i fix them so I can get my comp running again?

use FDISK to delete the partition again so the drive is basically clean.

then go through the setup again and see if it works.

Thanks Degs that worked I loaded Windows XP Professional this time to my computer and put virus scanning on it thanks for all the help!!
