error starting program

same problem as before however some more info. when the box appears it has the following info in it. a required.DLL file, REGDATA. DLL, was not found and that message comes up twice. :confused: null

What program is causing the error message?

Have you tried uninstalling it and reinstalling it?

What was the last program you installed on your computer ?

Once you click out of the two errors does your pc still boot fine and windows operate normally ?

Can you boot into safemode ? (turn on your PC and hit F8 when you see the message "Starting Windows98" and pick safe mode from the menu)

This at this stage sounds like a program you have installed may not have installed properly.

Please also do this :

Click Start / Run and type MSCONFIG in the box and hit enter.

Then click on the Startup tab of the window that pops up.

Please list ALL you see in the startup section and post it here.

Most importantly please let us know what the last program you installed was.

If you can remember did this error start occuring after installing any software ?

ref taking out the checks, weel i've done that and still no joy. what is the next step. by the way i think i remember the last program i loaded, it was a sleep mode whoch enables me touch a button and the computer would go to sleep, this was downloaded from compaq free help, any ideas... kato
