I cannot refresh the view on my win98 backup file. The error message is that there is an unformatted region on the media. The media is a file on a networked computer. I tried to copy the file to the local drive but it didn't work. :(

Well I can't say I've ever come across that error :)
I had a search of the MSKb articles and couldn't find anything related. So pls excuse the stab in the dark....
Is the drive with the backup file recognised as its full size by Windows and the BIOS ?
Presumably you've already tried running scandisk on that drive to make sure there are no bad sectors ?
btw I see ya posted this further down but no one had got to you so I'll close your other topic ;)
How's the MSCE going ?

hi there mishy.
we ran scandisk but everything was alright.
i have to check the other thing though.
studies are going on fine. however, i have not answered the papers because of the fee and the money i'd saved for it i had to use on a knee surgery.
anyway, the good news is that i may get a job in central america with a web hosting firm on server administration. that will be a good learning experience. i plan to get win 2k right and then answer for the new track mcse.
thanks for enquiring.
have a nice day.

for me the option is good. it is a good chance to learn. these people host international sites and services. for starts, this could be a good place to pick up advance skills in practical which i don't have as yet.
